Academic Visit to the Oliferenko Lab in London

Supported by an International Exchange Grant jointly funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Royal Society, Dr. Cunqi Ye, along with lab members Yuan Wang and Shuang Meng, visited King’s College London and the Francis Crick Institute from June 8 to June 15, 2026, at the invitation of Dr. Snezhana Oliferenko.

During the visit, Dr. Ye delivered a seminar talk at the Francis Crick Institute entitled “Spatiotemporal Logic for the Membrane Glycerophospholipidome.” Yuan and Shuang underwent training in specialized fission yeast culture and genetic manipulation under the expert guidance from the Oliferenko lab. The team actively engaged in discussions regarding experimental methodologies, recent progress, and broader scientific perspectives. 

On June 12th, the Ye and Oliferenko labs held a joint lab meeting to review their collaborative project. During this session, Yuan and Shuang presented their ongoing research, while Dr. Elisa Gomez-Gil and Quentin Saintain from the host laboratory shared their latest findings.

This highly successful visit not only deepened the academic partnership and collaborative research between the two laboratories but also offered our lab members an enriching experience in an international working and cultural environment.
